Update on Event Rider David Doel, supported by WCI

David Doel, Reybridge Eventing From 75 starts in 2013, David achieved 41 top 10 placings, of which 20 were in the top 3, including wins in OIu21 (Somerford Park) and CIC 1* (Vale Sabroso). David finished the 2013 season with 209 BE points, in 65th position in the BE rankings and 137th (out of nearly 4,000 riders) in the FEI World Rankings, plus a Silver Medal from the hard-fought European Championships in Paris. With new horses to ride alongside the high-achieving string he had in 2013, David is already proving the man to beat in 2014, with a 3rd in the CIC 1* and 4th in the CIC 2* at Vale Sabroso (Portugal), and a win and a 6th place in the OIu21 events at Belton Park and Weston Park respectively. Several of his horses are moving up in 2014, and have run well in their first outings at their new levels, and with the season just beginning, there is lots of opportunity. As ever there are also the youngsters to bring on, and BYEH, BE100 and Novice events also form part of David's busy schedule for this year. David has been re-selected for the World Class Development Programme for the 2013/14 season, aiming for the European Young Riders team again. He has also been asked to join the senior squad of up and coming riders for Nations Cup competitions.
