George Windsor Clive MRICS

Director - Sales, Purchases and Valuations

George Windsor Clive is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors since 1985 and a Registered Valuer, and has been with the firm since 1987.

He is regarded as the foremost expert in the sector for the professional horseman, with a knowledge of the detailed requirements for each equestrian discipline. His expertise is not limited to the equestrian world, and he is used to dealing with high value clients, both rural and agricultural transactions. A French speaker, George has also been responsible for the firm’s work in Normandy and Chantilly.

William Harford

Lettings, Sales and Purchases

William Harford is a graduate of the Royal Agricultural College and joined Windsor Clive in 2010. William organises the majority of the lettings within the firm and is the first point of contact to many seeking to rent an equestrian property. Having grown up on a stud farm, he has detailed knowledge of the needs of the professional horseman and the ability to scour the market for properties to match them.

Mark Kershaw MRICS

Project Management, Racecourse Consultancy

Mark Kershaw MRICS is a qualified Chartered Surveyor with a wealth of experience in the UK and International horse racing and leisure industry. He has particular expertise in managing the design and development of track projects encompassing both turf and artificial surfaces as well as building development. He was Clerk of the Course and manager of Sandown Park in 1981 where he oversaw major improvements to facilities, introduced modern grass management techniques (which have become best practice for the UK racing industry), and restructured the racing program to raise Sandown’s profile and prestige. He held the same position at Epsom racecourse in 1984, with additional responsibility for the training grounds on Epsom Downs. In 1988 he became Operations Director of the Tote’s Oncourse Division and also carried out studies on behalf of Ascot racecourse on the use of their facilities outside of racing, Ladbrokes for the design of a racecourse in Belgium, and for an independent plan for a racecourse in Mauritius. In 1992 he became General Manager of Ayr and Musselburgh racecourses turning their fortunes around and was responsible for major building programs on both courses. Mark continues in an advisory capacity at Ayr racecourse.

From 1992 to 2008 Mark was Managing Director of Newbury Racecourse plc. He instigated an extensive program of investment which made Newbury into a leading spectator and events venue. Since 2008 Mark has been a Director of Ffos Las racecourse Britain’s newest racecourse, which opened successfully in 2009 and is acknowledged as one of the fairest courses in Great Britain. He continues to advise a wide range of clients on building design, racetracks, gallops and their design. Mark was a Director of the Racecourse Association for fifteen years and a founder-Director of Racing UK.

Sarah Norris

Office Manager, Advertising and Publicity

Sarah has been involved in the equestrian industry since leaving college (ND in Stud Management), mostly in the bloodstock industry working for agents, in breeding, mare and foal management and yearling preparation on some of the most prestigious UK studs, together with competition horses in USA and Australia. She brings to Windsor Clive experience gained in the Farm Management Department for Strutt & Parker, as a racing secretary and for 10 years as Stud Secretary at the late Sheikh Maktoum al Maktoum’s Gainsborough Stud Ltd.
